AI-driven Polio surveillance application developed
Polio Antenna

Polio eradication depends on surveillance systems sensitive enough to detect even a single case before it spreads. PolioAntenna is a specialized surveillance solution dedicated to the eradication of poliovirus through high-sensitivity environmental and clinical monitoring. We trained AI models to identify subtle patterns in waste-water data and clinical paralysis reports that often precede a visible outbreak.

The system continuously tracks:

  • Environmental Sampling Results: Monitoring for the presence of vaccine-derived or wild poliovirus in sewage systems.

  • Immunization Coverage Gaps: Identifying “cold spots” where low immunity meets high environmental risk.

  • Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) Alerts: Flagging potential cases for immediate laboratory confirmation.

When a high-risk signature is detected, PolioAntenna triggers an immediate "Flash Response," notifying local vaccination teams and health investigators. The system's predictive engine forecasts potential transmission routes based on population movement and sanitation infrastructure, allowing for preemptive "mop-up" vaccination campaigns.
